When You Include Your Doggies in Your Wedding

Including a dog in your wedding is not unusual already because many couples are doing it and our dogs are already part of our family and that means that they can definitely attend your wedding. But like any other wedding features such as the bridal entourage, bridal bouquet, or the wedding favors, considering your lovely dog to be part of the wedding should also need some rigid preparations. We cannot even predict how a four-year old flower girl would behave when she walks in the aisle for the bridal entourage march, so much so with a canine family member? So, to be prepared, here are some dog-friendly tips which you can go by:

First, you should know your dog’s attitude, when he or she is not fond of the crowd, maybe you can still make him part of the wedding but he will just be in the wedding photos. Some couples even bring along with them their doggies during engagement photo sessions for that reason and make beautiful pre-nuptial pictures with the cute canine.

Second, how behaved or good your dog can be, they can still become unpredictable and that’s inevitable. Be sure to assign someone who can handle your dog, a close family member whom your dog is familiar with can be a good one to accompany the doggy during the wedding ceremony.

Third, you should be certain that the wedding venue allows dogs. You should also not just let your dog go and roam around the venue while the ceremony or reception is starting. That’s why a dog handler is a must if your dog will take part in your wedding.

Fourth, allocate a role for your dog. He or she is usually a ring bearer but you can also assign him or her to be the vows bearer. If not physically in the wedding venue, your dog can accompany your miniature figurines as the wedding cake topper. You can also honor your wedding favors to your dog by showing your personality to your wedding guests that you are an animal lover. You can give dog tags or dog accessories if you are also surrounded by dog-lover wedding guests.

Fifth, if your dog is not used to wearing clothes and you are planning to dress him or her up for the wedding, be sure to make him or her used to the outfit or let him or her wear the outfit or any other pet clothing many times before the wedding.

Including your dog in your wedding can be a lot of fun. It may not go as planned and your dog may perform out of the way, but you still had him or her become part of something which happens just once in a lifetime. So, enjoy it and let your doggy enjoy it also. Just be guided with these tips and have a blast.
