The Children On Your Wedding

We like children, we really do. Anything that they will do, we would still find them cute. But are you a bride who tries to choose children who will be part of your entourage because of that criterion alone? Why not choose a kiddo who will participate during your wedding day who is of proper age, well-behaved, and of course, cute? Along with your other wedding details and features such as the wedding favors, the bridal dress, the wedding venue, this tiny part of the entourage should also be well-thought out.

I have once attended a cousin’s wedding and she chose our very cute two-year-old nephew to be the ring bearer. Although he was so cute in his suit, he put up tantrums minutes before the wedding; he ended up walking the aisle, together with his mom, crying and shouting. Well, what bride will want that kind of scenario? Some brides would even make sure that they provide beautiful and unique wedding favors or make certain that the food will be as sumptuous as ever, then she will just let this scene to happen? And so, to avoid this kind of scene, it is imperative to be aware of these ideas when you are planning to include the cute little ones in your wedding entourage:

Consider the Child’s Age. Choose a kid relative or friend’s child who is of proper age. With proper, it means, five to six years old or a little older than that. In that age, a child will be able to follow instructions when being coached regarding the bridal entourage march. By choosing the right age of the young ones who will be a part of the ceremony, you can avoid problems such as youngster tantrums.

Consider to Let the Ring Bearer Hold on to “Just Pillows”. Although you will have a ring bearer who is of proper age, you won’t ever bear to think that a ring or both of them will be lost at the day of the wedding, right? So with this, it will be much better to let the ring bearer hold on to just pillows so that no fear of losing the ring will be felt by the bride or the groom himself. Unless, you have complete trust on your ring bearer, it will be okay to let them be your keeper.

Consider Letting the Children Walk with One Another.  Have you noticed that no matter how unfamiliar a child is to the other, they still become friends? Well, you let them walk by pair or let the three of the flower girls just march on the aisle together, and not solo, you may be free of hassle when it comes to children tantrums or unlikely behaviours.

Consider Having a Kiddos’ Venue during the Reception. I remember a friend who got married and designated a place for the kids in the wedding reception for all the children who might attend her wedding, the part of the entourage and the guests’ kids, for them to also enjoy the reception which is definitely for the adults. Coloring books, toys, and kiddie meals can be assigned to that area of the reception. This could be your cool and tots-y wedding favors to the youngsters.

When You Include Your Doggies in Your Wedding

Including a dog in your wedding is not unusual already because many couples are doing it and our dogs are already part of our family and that means that they can definitely attend your wedding. But like any other wedding features such as the bridal entourage, bridal bouquet, or the wedding favors, considering your lovely dog to be part of the wedding should also need some rigid preparations. We cannot even predict how a four-year old flower girl would behave when she walks in the aisle for the bridal entourage march, so much so with a canine family member? So, to be prepared, here are some dog-friendly tips which you can go by:

First, you should know your dog’s attitude, when he or she is not fond of the crowd, maybe you can still make him part of the wedding but he will just be in the wedding photos. Some couples even bring along with them their doggies during engagement photo sessions for that reason and make beautiful pre-nuptial pictures with the cute canine.

Second, how behaved or good your dog can be, they can still become unpredictable and that’s inevitable. Be sure to assign someone who can handle your dog, a close family member whom your dog is familiar with can be a good one to accompany the doggy during the wedding ceremony.

Third, you should be certain that the wedding venue allows dogs. You should also not just let your dog go and roam around the venue while the ceremony or reception is starting. That’s why a dog handler is a must if your dog will take part in your wedding.

Fourth, allocate a role for your dog. He or she is usually a ring bearer but you can also assign him or her to be the vows bearer. If not physically in the wedding venue, your dog can accompany your miniature figurines as the wedding cake topper. You can also honor your wedding favors to your dog by showing your personality to your wedding guests that you are an animal lover. You can give dog tags or dog accessories if you are also surrounded by dog-lover wedding guests.

Fifth, if your dog is not used to wearing clothes and you are planning to dress him or her up for the wedding, be sure to make him or her used to the outfit or let him or her wear the outfit or any other pet clothing many times before the wedding.

Including your dog in your wedding can be a lot of fun. It may not go as planned and your dog may perform out of the way, but you still had him or her become part of something which happens just once in a lifetime. So, enjoy it and let your doggy enjoy it also. Just be guided with these tips and have a blast.

Pastel-Colored Vintage Wedding Theme

With a lot of themes available for a wedding, a vintage one will always stand out. It can be a great budget saver and not to mention, it has this classic and timeless aura in it which is purely awesome for any bride who might want to adopt the vintage theme. It actually depends on the bride if she will go all the way with this timeless subject for a wedding or choose a number of her wedding details such as wedding favors, her wedding dress, or her wedding venue to become as classy as she would want them to be. And when we say vintage, pastel colors always reign.

If you are a bride or a wedding planner who is currently looking for some vintage wedding ideas which you can get inspirations from, here are some tips which you can absolutely make use of to make your dream wedding aligned with how vintage and beautiful you would want it to come out.

The Flowers. Peonies, roses, and hydrangeas will be the flower of choice if you are rooting for a vintage wedding. Of course, the pastel-colored ones will be a definite fit. Put these eye-candies in old bottles such as bottles of soft drinks, or mason jars with same color ribbons tied around their necks to garner that vintage feel. Another flower idea to comply with this awesome theme is to make your bouquet look natural and some are even incorporating buttons in it to also present a DIY project which is another perfect and budget-savvy idea for any brides.

The Wedding Favors. To scatter to everyone the theme which you have chosen and to make them feel the gratitude that you have for them, you can give out pastel-colored French macarons which they can bring home with them. This kind of pastry is a perfect representation of the classic look because it is more often used in tea parties and that is a traditional style with a regal feel. French macarons can be packaged in jars or plastic containers complete with cloth covers. Chocolate coated almonds or cookies in beautiful shapes and pastel colors are also perfect for vintage-themed weddings.

Typewriters. Incorporate this machine in your wedding reception for the guests to use when they are giving you messages or signing the guestbook. Since this is an era of computers and all those kinds of gadgets, a typewriter will certainly be an added vintage touch. Complete these details with pastel stationary papers to be typed on, then you’re definitely good to go with the vintage look.

The Cake. How much more can you show how vintage is the wedding look that you want to project than having a cake which goes perfectly well with the celebration? Everybody can say that the wedding that they attended had a pretty smashing vintage theme because of the beauty of the cake which is recommended to be in pastel colors such as pale pink or pale yellow.

The Headband. Headpieces, fascinators, and headbands are definitely making their own way back nowadays but they are still considered to belong in vintage category and they have always carried that timeless and stunning look. These head accessories can be worn by the bridesmaids or the bride herself. The bridesmaids can wear them and have this hair adornment compliment their dresses in pastel colors to fulfil the vintage wedding theme.

Go Green With Recycled Wedding Reception Decorations

Everyone is going green nowadays and everything that’s nature-friendly nowadays is being incorporated in weddings. There are even environmentally driven brides who would rather purposely choose to really make their weddings green. And so, as the Earth is getting older and constantly requiring from us to become friendlier to it, we can really do something responsibly to contribute to this movement especially during weddings wherein we could impart also even a little awareness to our wedding guests. Some brides or couples would incorporate the green awareness to their wedding favors, to their food, or even to the bridal gown itself.

With all these go green wedding hoopla, are you still out of ideas on how you can join the movement? Incorporate some of these amazing ideas which you can really make use of as decorations on your wedding reception or even other parties:

Newspaper Love. As useful as it is when it’s new, old newspapers are always playing significant roles when it comes to stuffing our fragile materials when we’re packing them or something. Old newspapers can also come out as very stylish adornments such as making them substitute for paper lanterns or pompoms. Newspapers can also become cool alternative for ribbons or confetti which is being adorned in the dance floor or the ones which are being thrown when the bride and the groom get out of the church or wedding venue right after the ceremony.

Old little Cans. Well those little cans for milk or preserved goods are not just containers of food; they can become stylish and pretty candleholders! And candleholders can make a very good wedding reception table centrepiece or wedding favors. You can do these can candleholders by yourself and you’ll be amazed at how pretty the outcome can be. Gather some used little cans and dry them up. After you have dried them, you can start to make holes all around it. Style these cans with the holes. You can put fun shapes with the holes or you can even put your and your husband-to-be’s initials using the holes. After that, paint the inside of the cans. You can choose colors according to your theme or anything which is cooler to you. Pink would be perfect. Put a candle inside it, and then voila, you now have a recycled candleholder!

Bottles and Mason Jars. Soft drink bottles or mason jars will be perfect as alternative wedding table vases. This would absolutely go well if you have a vintage theme for your wedding. Just tie some cute-colored ribbons around the neck of the bottles or jars to make them prettier and fill them with water. Put a flower arrangement in each vase alternative; put a something that’s pretty such as a patterned paper or placemat as the base of the vase. You can also stick some glitters all around your bottles or jars to make them prettier.
